New Design

Anyone who has been to this website before can plainly see there has been a large revision. In addition to a new design, I’ve replaced the Blogger back end with WordPress.

All of the old content has been migrated, including comments.

Comments and bug reports on the new design are welcome!

Thanks for posting guys – didn’t realize I had comment moderation turned on. It’s off now.

Let the viagra spam comments commence!

Im sure I can loosely imagine why you migrated your blog from blogger to wordpress, but Im curious. If you ever have time- please do a brief review on the benefits of using wordpress.
It definitely looks waay better- so I applaud your decision.

Hey Ian, the main reasons for me were:

    1. WordPress is easier to customize.
    2. WordPress has a ton of plug-ins and developer support. Installing things like Google Analytics was easier with WordPress than it was with their own Blogger if you can believe it.
    3. WordPress is run on my hosted server and I can still make posts, etc., even if Google goes down or discontinues Blogger (unlikely, of course).
    4. I wanted to be able to easily create a static homepage that pulled in blog post headers in a customized way and display them in a small area of my static homepage, for example. I’m not doing this yet but with WordPress it is way easier to setup than with Blogger.

It pretty much just comes down to control. With WordPress you have the full source code and can run it on your own server. This offers full control.
